People and Culture
Aneesa’s core responsibilities are focused on providing leadership and direction with regard to the management of employee and labour relations and occupational health and safety. This includes chairing labour management committees, co-chairing the joint occupational health and safety committee, assisting in collective bargaining, labour and employment-related University policy development and administration, and regulatory compliance.
Aneesa supports the People and Culture team by providing technical guidance, support and coaching on the application of:
- Employment Standards
- Human Rights
- Worker's Compensation Act & B.C. Occupational Health and Safety Regulations
- Common law
- the University’s employee contracts and policies
- performance management
- B.C. Labour Relations Code & collective agreement administration and interpretation
- grievance/arbitration, and communications with union representatives
