Drop-in spaces

Associate Faculty Office Space - Millward Annex 107

Associate faculty have office space in Millward Annex 107. It is furnished with seven workstations complete with networked computers, a kitchenette with fridge, a washroom beside the space and a printer.

If you would like to have access to this room, please go to security (ground floor of the Millward building, directly across the road from the Annex). A security officer will open the door for you. We are working on another system of access.

Please note, the Annex is currently not wheelchair accessible. Please contact Faculty Affairs by email if that poses a problem for you.

Sequoia Building: drop-in space for residencies

During residencies, programs use Room 218 and Room 318 as organizational hubs. These rooms have workstations that may be available to associate faculty to use during residency.

Please speak with your program office about their availability for your use.

RRU Library

The RRU Library offers both a computer lab and individual work stations available during library hours.

Computer labs

RRU has several computer labs that are provided for classes and for drop in use when not booked for classes.

Sherman Jen Building: work stations

The Sherman Jen building has three work stations next to the kitchen area on the main (2nd) floor, as well as two "Brody units" (modular workstations for laptop use), located by the cafeteria on the lower floor.

These are open workstations available for anyone's use.

CTET Studio: Sequoia Room 004

CTET Studio has drop-in computer workspaces, including one Mac, with large monitors, and one standing desk. Please contact CTET ahead of time to ensure availability, and to ensure an appropriate Studio team-member will be there to provide whatever technical assistance you need.

Grant Lounge

Associate faculty and other academic contractors are welcome to use the Grant Lounge (2nd floor, next to the cafeteria) as a place to sit and meet casually.

Classrooms, labs and breakout rooms

You can book breakout rooms for a maximum of two hours using our Event Management System (EMS). The email confirmation is proof of your reservation.

Classroom audio/video equipment

Please contact your program staff to receive an orientation to classroom AV equipment.

Library

You have access to the RRU Library collections and services for the duration of your contract in support of your RRU contract deliverables exclusively.

Access to the Library collections and services ends on the contract expiry date, unless another contract for services is set to begin within 60 days of the expiring contract.

You can borrow from the RRU Library’s physical collection with an RRU ID card.

You can also access the Library's computer lab and individual work stations, available during library hours.

Teaching supplies

Certain teaching supplies are provided by the program office (flip chart paper, markers, post-its etc.). Please speak to your program staff if you have special needs regarding supplies.

You can print from all computers in the associate faculty office, Grant 136, and during residency in the Learning & Innovation Centre, from the LIC drop-in spaces: LIC 218 and LIC 318.

You can access a photocopier through your program office.

RRU ID card

You can get an RRU ID card that will be valid for the duration of your contract with a signed contract. Obtain your RRU ID card at the Welcome Desk (main lobby of the Sequoia building).

Please note: you must have an RRU ID card to access and enter the Sequoia building after hours.

When working on campus, all academic contractors can use their RRU ID card to get a discount at the cafeteria.

Associate faculty may use their RRU ID card to borrow from the RRU Library’s physical collection while they have an active contract, and they can receive a discount at the Recreation Centre.

Food services

Habitat Cafe is located in the Grant Building, 2nd floor. A staff and faculty lounge is located directly next to the cafe, where you can eat and meet in a comfortable setting.

The Grab-and-Go Kiosk is located in the Sherman Jen Building.

Both cafeterias provide a 10% discount to associate faculty who present an RRU ID.

Recreation Centre

You are welcome to avail yourself of the Recreation Centre. You will need your RRU ID card to receive discounted rates.
