Public Interest Disclosure Act (PIDA)

The Public Interest Disclosure Act (PIDA) is B.C.'s whistleblower protection legislation for public sector employees. Learn how it protects both current and former employees of Royal Roads University.

Effective December 1, 2024, the Public Interest Disclosure Act (PIDA) applies to all post-secondary institutions in B.C.

PIDA provides a process for investigating and addressing allegations of serious or systemic wrongdoing. It also makes sure that employees who speak up about wrongdoing, are protected from reprisal, and remain confidential.
