Hazardous materials (WHMIS)
Some RRU workers deal with hazardous products. The university takes steps to ensure employees know how to handle them safely.
Water quality
Safe, clean drinking water is essential for everybody. Royal Roads has taken a steps to ensure our students, staff, faculty and visitors have access.

RRU's asbestos management program aims to prevent the hazardous material from becoming airborne by identifying and eliminating asbestos-containing materials.

Protect your hearing
Noise can be a workplace hazard. RRU monitors noise and limits it when possible. We give staff who need it protective equipment and test their hearing.
Contractor safety requirements
Building contractors working on campus must provide current clearance letters and meet Royal Roads and WorkSafe BC health, safety and environment guidelines.
Invasive species & species at risk
Campus invasive species include poison hemlock and Scotch broom. Report or remove these species to protect our coastal Douglas fir ecosystem.
