Student Services

Hello/Bonjour, I am Nancy Prevost-Maurice, an RRU staff member for five years and an RRU student for two. I have worked in different departments within the institutions (admissions, enrolment, and recruitment), making me a great candidate to understand our university's needs and realities. I am involved in various projects such as the climate action committee, the giving garden, the meditation group, and external partners' industry events allowing me to meet staff and students on a daily basis and be aware of our audiences and challenges.

When I was in college in Quebec City, I was the President of the Student Association and participated in several Academic Councils and meetings. I was on the founding committee of the Environmental Committee back then and continued my volunteering and implication throughout my years at Laval University.

My work experience as a manager in a travel agency for ten years, then my work here at Royal Roads taught me a lot. I am a good team member who ensures everyone is seen and heard; I create a safe space for conversations.

In 2019 I co-founded a small business aiming to tackle the single-use issues on Vancouver Island. Starting a business taught me to believe in myself and my ideas, work with others, iterate, learn, be vulnerable, and move forward even in doubt. It's a valuable experience I can bring to the table with this position.

My recent studies in Climate Action Leadership taught me what it takes to lead with care, courage, and creativity.

I have the experience to succeed and use my voice to find solutions to build our institution's better, innovative, and inclusive future. I aim to serve with all my heart and passion. I am a change-maker and would love to apply my skills to this role.
