Logo and brand materials

Associate faculty representing Royal Roads have access to branded templates (PPT, Word etc.) as well as logos, photography, and other brand elements. 

These resources can be found on Canto - the RRU Brand Centre and must be used in compliance with the brand standards.

Photography & photo release

Associate faculty may use RRU imagery showing the campus and grounds for university-related purposes only, and must give appropriate photo credits (Photo: Royal Roads University). You can access photos and brand images on RRU's brand centre, Canto.

Please note the Digital Rights Management guidelines:

By agreeing to these terms and conditions you identify as Royal Roads Staff or Faculty [this includes core and associate faculty]. The alteration or misuse of the Royal Roads logo or brand documents is strictly prohibited. Royal Roads logos, fonts, brand templates, and photography are available to all academic and administrative units — students, alumni and outside organizations may not use any assets without permission. If you require permission or need assistance please contact creativeservices@royalroads.ca.

If you take your own pictures at a Royal Roads sponsored event, then these are considered RRU records and are covered under the initial photo release that students sign at the beginning of a course.

If that release does not cover a particular event, then you will need to reconfirm the agreement with the student at that time. Please ensure that there is a record of responses and clearly indicate who has opted out of having their photo used in any way and submit that record to your program staff.

Letterhead

RRU letterhead is available to associate faculty to provide letters of reference for students and, otherwise, only for pre-approved university related business. Please request letterhead from your program staff.

When you sign as associate faculty, as that term may be poorly understood outside of RRU, please reference in the text that you are affiliated with the university and are providing the reference on behalf of the university.
